I'm getting a septoplasty and turbinate reduction (for a medical issue), which should enable me to breathe through my nose. I'm really hoping that it will affect my speech in a positive way. Much of the time when I speech block, it feels like I can't breathe, so I'm hoping they are related. But I won't be able to swim for at least a month because of the surgery! Try to pay attention to your breathing. Speech and breath are interconnected in such a way that if you breathe poorly, speech may suffer. I may be too hopeful, but I'm really, really hoping being able to breathe properly will have an effect on my speech.
