What do you think is the root cause of your stutter? Hey everybody, first post here. I've been thinking and researching a lot lately about the process of speech, how it works, the specific intricacies involved, and why 99% of people on earth are able to accomplish without trouble it while 1% aren't. I have theories about why stutters happen, most of which revolve around us not utilizing airflow as consistently as people who don't stutter. Ie, the issue is present regardless, but when we get nervous or anxious, the lack of airflow gets worse. I could go into more detail, but they're just vague ideas at this point which aren't supported by research. So what do you guys think is the root cause. Is it physiological? Neurological? Genetic? A mix of all three? I'm interested in getting some other perspectives.
