Hi there! So I have a young child with a mild neurogenic stutter who is monitored by his pediatrician and an SLP. Basically, if the stutter lasts longer than 3 months you want to bring it up with his pediatrician. If not, this is a completely normal thing that many young children go through and it is referred to as a developmental stutter. Typically it will manifest when the brain is growing and your child’s language is leaping forward, so I wouldn’t worry too much at this point. It’s great that you’ve noted the start of the stutter, you’re a good mom and a great advocate for her!
