Need help with my unusual stutter Hi Reddit, I have had a stutter ever since I was a little child and thankfully it has all but passed now. In fact I can usually speak perfectly fluently and eloquently. However, I still possess a very bad stutter, usually around certain words or phrases and in certain situations. I dont mind this so much as I usually just think of a different way to say what im thinking. The real problem is when I am asked a question with no way around this, prime example is when people ask my full name in formal situations...my surname is Davies, and this is literally impossible for me to say when prompted. I could say it to myself or use it within the confines of a sentence, but when prompted I can get my first name out, but then have to spell out the surname. It's entirely psychological but so annoying, I want to be a teacher and I really fear as though this could seriously impact upon my life goals. Does anyone else experience a similar stutter to this and can anyone suggest any help at all? Thanks everyone :)
