I'd be careful. Primary care doctors do not have expertise in prescribing psychiatric drugs nor do they know anything about stuttering. SSRIs carry risk with them, even if it's a low risk and without being trained on them and what risk factors may be, it is risky. Also SSRIs are not proven to help with stuttering.
