Does anybody use a DAF device and have success with it? Before I get started here, let me just say that I'm new to this subreddit and BOY am I glad I discovered it! I don't have any family, friends or colleagues that stutter so I really don't have anybody to talk to apart from my SLP. I hope to gain some stuttering wisdom here and possibly make some new friends on the journey. Anyways, here is the thing: I've stuttered for my entire life and pretty much just "got used to it" at some point. Talking in front of people doesn't typically bother me but it really depends how I'm feeling emotionally; I do have anxiety/mild depression and I have anger issues (currently on medication for anxiety), so that can really determine if I'm going to have a bad day or good day with stuttering. My main question is this: does anybody currently use a Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) device like SpeechEasy or have you used one in the past? Did you have success with it or did you find it didn't really work for you? I know it depends on the person but I'm really curious to get your experiences and opinions as I'm interested in POSSIBLY trying one. My only gripe is that they're like $1500-$5000 and apparently insurance typically does not cover it. Thanks!
