Any country you're clearly a foreigner who statistically wouldn't be able to speak the local language. When did I say it went away when speaking another language? The expectation to be able to speak is much lower when living in a non-englush speaking country. People assume the communication won't be verbal, totally changing the atmosphere. I've got a stutter, and it's whack - yes- "whack" again- but I don't stutter if I don't speak. And I don't speak when people don't expect me to speak. If I try to speak, that's another matter... I can speak non-english languages but sometimes it's easier to pretend I can't.
