You're going to learn a lot about what stuttering is the first session, which is going to change everything going on in your head. You will love it. The therapist is genuinely interested in helping you. I totally know what you're feeling now, but just do it - you will thank yourself (and all of us!). That being said, I totally agree about not putting all your eggs in this basket. Each therapist will be a little different, and you'll probably click with different ones to varying degrees. If you're really concerned about the money for it, I would suggest insisting you see someone with experience working with adults who stutter. Most are experts in children who stutter, adults who stutter are an entirely different ball game. Even if you don't stutter in front of your therapist the first couple of times, don't worry about it being a waste of your time - it's not. Looking forward to how it went for you later on Wednesday or Thursday! Also, pre-congrats on taking your first step towards controlling this - I promise it's not as big/bad as it seems right now. :D EDIT: CAN'T TYPE.
