I’m not sure where I’m going with this but here’s my two cents. I started taking clonazepam around five years ago for special situations, as you described, as propranolol had no effect on me. But now, I’m addicted to it but I’m quite open about it with my family and my psychiatrist who is still prescribing it to me as I’m going through a really rough patch (long story) and we plan to taper it down once I get through this rough patch. So, to answer your question. My parents really didn’t do much other than tell me to be careful and mindful and to do what my psychiatrist says. Nothing but love and support.
