Trust me! I've been to many conferences and met many big wigs and it is so hard to talk. All I can say is, you'll get through it. I'm afraid talking is unavailable. I always explain to who ever is asking me questions that I stutter, if I don't make myself clear, tell me and I'll try again. They get it and will understand. It gets a bit easier. Usually if you stick to a particular field long enough, people know who you are and will understand. Heck. Maybe you'll find your future wife at a conference and will find it cute.
