I do agree with you about needing socialization. The way we did it, there were always lots of weekly classes and meetups with other children. I also agree with you about the importance of sports! I'm sorry that you felt like your parents were always trying to cure you. That's one of my fears with starting speech therapy right now. I don't want him to feel like I'm trying to "fix" anything about him -- but I also don't want him to be one of those kids who grows up and is like, "If only my parents had gotten me speech therapy when I was younger..." It's so hard to know how to navigate these things as a parent...
