"Tricks" and "tactics" aren't necessarily all that helpful, especially in the long run. Once they've lost their novelty factor, they're likely to be integrated into the stutter. You may just be setting yourself up for habitualities you don't need (on top of everything else). It's better to work with a professional to manage the stutter through various techniques. But you're going to have to spend time and effort to do so (including ongoing maintenance). And money too, of course. It saddens me that there are countries in the world that don't supply that sort of thing for free to all their citizens who might need it.
