I talked less than I could have in school, so I didn't develop the small-talk social skills, soooo I've avoided parties and meeting huge groups of new people alwaaaaays. Actually that's served more to piss off my boyfriends (serial, not multiple) more than limit their acquisition. I'm essentially a cerebral-type introvert, so when I do talk to people it's about interesting, more pithy topics, in which case my stutter doesn't matter (since we're talking to exchange ideas, not just to talk). Actually, the lack of small-talk and the silence-unless-interesting is what drew all my boyfriends to me, and led to satisfying, long-term relationships. So actually, my stutter has been GOOD for my dating life. My lack of socially adept perky small-talking makes job interviews in fields I'm not passionate about (like coffee shops) really hard though.
