Yes, it is true. I don't sing anymore. But when I was a kid, I used to sing in front of the class flawlessly. The reason is when you are singing you are not exactly communicating with other person. And stuttering is a communication disorder, not speech disorder. That is the same reason why most of us don't stutter when talking to ourselves.
