Using a recorder to answer the phone? Advice
Content
Using a recorder to answer the phone? Advice I can manage my stutter pretty well by using synonyms when I’m talking and realise I’m about to stutter. However, I stutter when saying my name 50% of the time - mostly when I’m saying it over the phone. I’m applying for my first full time job and it will most likely be in an office environment so I’ll probably have to answer a company phone throughout the day. I was thinking of getting a small device that allows me to pre-record me saying “hello this is ‘x company’, ‘x name’ speaking, how can I help you?”. The plan is when the phone starts ringing I could then pick up and play the recording, then continue speaking without the recorder. Has anyone here tried this?
