I'm currently 16 and in high school. I've been stuttering for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was home schooled until 7th grade so that certainly didn't help my people skills. My best friend of 3 years actually just recently found out about my stutter. Typically when I feel like I'm about to stutter I'll either pause and act like I'm trying to think of the right word or just use a synonym. I just flat out told him one day and he was pretty surprised. I currently am a cashier at the local grocery store so I can practice talking to customers. All in all I think it has improved a bit recently but I go in and out with it. Some months I'll be fine, rarely stuttering and sounding pretty fluent. Other months I'll be a stuttering mess, barely able to finish a sentence.I have not really considered speech therapy but if I still stutter by the time I graduate high school I would consider it.
