Rather depends I think. I managed to have a very successful life despite my stutter. Will I be professional translator? Probably not. There are several actors, comedians, or other public figures that have a stutter. Ultimately its how much you care about it. I am in a job that requires a daily sync up. Where we go around the "virtual room" till its our turn to speak and give an update. What is more anxiety inducing for a stutter than waiting till its your inevitable turn to speak. But I do my job so well that its undeniable. It the worst thing in life because its your life that its happening to. I get it. And Im not trying to give you cope. I have had a pretty traumatic life and if I could erase one of those events, stuttering would not be anywhere near one that I would get rid off.
