I have read a lot of what you have said and agree as well as disagree. I am a speech pathologist who is a lifelong stutterer. I am lucky in some ways due to the fact that I kind of knew where to look for answers. I started with the question as to why fluent speakers do not stutter. I read some research that talked about airflow during speech allowing for fluent speech. I realized that people who stutter have poor or intermittent airflow during speech. I also spent years researching how the brain learns to help me overcome my significant learning difficulties which I did. I then thought I wonder if I could become fluent if I could rewire my brain. I was actually able to rewire my brain whereby I no longer stutter . I turned my brain into a fluent brain. Stuttering can be “cured”. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
