People who stutter who also have asthma - does the two overlap?

People who stutter who also have asthma - does the two overlap? My wife been living with severe asthma all of her life and in addition her has been stuttering since she was 5. Her stutter does in phases - there are moments when it's less frequent and there moments when it's really hard for her. There was a moment where she was having difficult communicated and she got really winded that she needed to use her asthma medicine settle down. This is a very rare moment but nevertheless it's not easy for her. For anyone who stammers and has asthma (or some sort of respiratory issue) does the two overlap and does it make things difficult?
