New job fear 😬 Hi all! Little background first, my name is Bianca, 23. I've had a speech impediment my whole life. So today I've accepted a job offer as a customer service representative. The job is mainly answering and making phone calls to customers. I'm so excited to start a job that isn't in hospitality and pushes me out of my comfort zone. In my hospitality jobs, I would repeat the same things everyday to customers (hello, how are you, your total is... Have a great day etc). Phone calls are not my strongest suit, especially making them and saying my name. I can talk and talk, but I fear that when I pick up a phone and say my name that I will stutter and it be awkward for both me and the customer. My goal is to be able to make phone calls enough that it will soon be second nature to me. I would absolutely love some advice or assurance , thankyou!
