Actually taking a deep breath makes it harder to oscillate your vocal cords. Try it yourself. Take a deep breath. Your vocal cords will feel much more tense. The exhaling can become a new secondary symptom. Be carful with it. If you have difficulties to start your voice, you can try to moan quietly.
