Sometimes anger can be a useful ally. I served in the Navy, and while I was in, my entire unit made fun of me and all had a great time poking fun of me. One day I got mad and started asking my LPO and my chief what the CO would think of their conduct, of their harassment. It didn’t take long before it all stopped. I have been laughed at and teased me whole life, and currently I’m 54. The best thing I’ve ever been told about the laughing, the giggling, is that not everyone knows nor understands what stuttering is, nor has they ever been exposed to someone who does it without being able to control it. There is a time for letting people laugh, and a time to get in peoples faces about bad behavior. My anger has gotten me through a lot of hard times.
