For me, it helped a lot. I’ve worked with 3 different speech therapists so far. All of them were good, but I liked my recent one more because she was really sweet, fun, and patient. She didn’t encourage the techniques I didn’t like. Also, I’m 21 and she was like 4 years older, so it felt easier to talk with her versus someone as old as my parents
