Why do I stutter when telling something I know but fluent when BSing?

Why do I stutter when telling something I know but fluent when BSing? Ok, I have stuttered my whole life. My father stuttered, so I take it as in the genes. Weird thing is that I stutter more when telling the truth, compared to just sitting around talking with the guys.
