I worked in alternative medicine for a while and inert/harmless substances really can make people feel significantly better via the placebo effect. All of homeopathic medicine depends on it.... your vitamin is certainly doing more than (in my opinion) a vial of water with the memory of a remedy would!! (look it up, imo homeopathy is the science of selling very diluted water to very desperate people and I was not comfortable with it at all!!! ) I'm pretty sure B vitamins aren't the kind of nutrient your body "holds onto" all day. When I have taken high doses of B vitamin tablets or liquid it seems to be very obvious that within the hour I will excrete most of it through urine. Apparently B vitamins are water soluable. If the ritual of taking the medicine or the slight energy boost you feel as you metabolize it helps maybe there is a lower dose that could be just as effective. You mention B vitamins only being studied in small doses and I think that's as far as the body seems to use it. again, I'm not a scientist and I'm not anti your remedy. I looked it up and copied this from [https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683) which discusses concerns around deficiency. "Thiamine has short half-life ranging from 1 to 12 h \[[119](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/#B119-cells-10-02595)\]. Approximately, 30 mg of thiamine are stored in tissues with high metabolic need such as skeletal muscle, the heart, brain, liver, and kidneys. Excess free thiamine and TMP are excreted in urine \[[120](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/#B120-cells-10-02595)\]. Absent regular consumption, thiamine storage is depleted within 2–3 weeks. With acute illness, TD may emerge within 72 h \[[121](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/#B121-cells-10-02595)\]. The RDA for B1 for males and females seems to be about .9mg or 1ish mg. I'm not a doctor but if you keep taking this you may want to ask a doctor what dose is most effective and whats the max safe dose and for how long. if for nothing else just so you aren't taking more than is effective and therefore spending more money than needed on vitamins.
