I like the story, but I do have some issues with the message, particularly the line "Recognize that there is nothing wrong with you: you have the ability to speak with fluency." Not everyone can be fluent, and not all stutterers strive to be fluent. To imply that having nothing wrong with you by measure of fluency also means if you cannot be fluent there is something wrong with you. And like /u/artisansquid said, some of this implies stuttering is mental and that indifference can lead to fluency. I don't think this is an accurate statement. I appreciated the line "The stutterer then resolves to speak to people as he does to the dogs, with indifference – stuttering or not.", but the previous focus on fluency almost contradicts this for me. I did like your storytelling. I'm a guy in my 20s.
