I'd never been able to pronounce my name without blocking, making faces and such. After I tried 'The Mcguire Programme' things started changing. It all started on day one of a four day course, and after that first day, you have to stand up and face a crowd. My crowd consisted of about 50-70 fellow stutterers, some new, some old to the programme. I had sat with the new crowd and had heard them pronouncing their name when they first arrived. Like me they were blocking, having ticks and all other sorts of non-pleasantness going on inside them while trying to say their name. But when we had to stand up one by one and pronounce our name, everyone did it in their first try. I got tears in my eyes, it was such an overwhelming moment. I myself also had to stand up, and I could now, literally for the first time ever, pronounce my name fluently. That was probably the biggest day of my life. For those of you guys who thinks it would've been better if you'd never started speech therapy or other sort of treatment, don't! Man up, and take care of your problem instead, Saying "I wish I hadn't been made aware of my stutter" helps nothing, you have probably always, and will probably always be a stutterer. But only when you acknowledge your problem you can begin working on it. EDIT: here's [their international webpage](http://www.mcguireprogramme.com/en). They have a lot of smaller departments around the world. Recently they've just opened up on in Turkey.
