You make a great point. In almost every stuttering book I have read, or podcast. Something they always tell you to "cancel" out the word. Or substitute it with another word, and correct some words don't have other words with the same meaning. I won't put the author's name out there or his book, bit I recently red a book on stuttering. Where the author gave his pointers on how to fix it. One of them was to cancel out the first letter, or have a quiet onset of the first letter. Example the word And instead of and say nd. It's hard enough for some people to understand us. Now they have to play scrabble to figure out the words we are saying? I too have trouble sometimes with big groups, I still haven't found a way to push through a word successfully.
