Advice for Stuttering? Hello /r/stutter My son, who is now 7, has a slight stutter, and though it varies day to day -- week to week -- it doesn't seem to be resolving itself on its own. Though it's hard to pinpoint when it started, he didn't start stuttering when he started talking, I feel that it started a couple of years ago and has slowly become a bit more noticeable over the last year. My wife is firmly in the camp that this is just very "situational" and many kids his age have slight stutters and that any kind of formal, professional therapy may do more help than harm (i.e. bring more attention to the problem and make him more self conscious). I'm not so sure. Obviously, it depends on what kind of therapy and there are a lot of variables to consider. But just wanted to reach out to this community to hear your thoughts? Many thanks in advance (also although I will try to reply to most posts, it may not be straight away). Thanks!
