Yes, it has affected my job and the ability to get promoted. I used to work for airport security and the next level up was required to use radios and answer telephones. Sometimes in extremely, tense situations. I couldn't do that, so I never got promoted. My last job wasn't my dream job but it was interesting and it gave me a sense of purpose, keeping people safe. I was good at my job but I did not have the self-confidence to use the radios. On the occasion, I tried it was a total disaster and everyone in the airport laughed at me. I've had telephone interviews hang up on me because my stutter was so bad. My current job is I am on disability for unrelated reasons. I would sometimes pretend I couldn't speak because I was having a really bad day speechwise.
