yeah, it sounds like a secondary behaviorism as someone else mentioned -- stutters can fluctuate drastically depending upon stress or new environments and situations. i would just be super supportive and be OK with whatever she wants to do, meet her where she is at right now. over the years, my wife has never really made me feel self-conscious about my stutter, she has tried to ease the burden, and been supportive whenever i talk about it, i couldn't think of anything more i would want!
