A quote from "Lost Connections": The United Nations—in its official statement for World Health Day in 2017— explained http://www.ohchr.org/EN/NewsEvents/Pages/DisplayNews.aspx?NewsID=21480&LangID=E, as accessed April 16, 2017. They state that for severe cases medication should remain as an option but “the use of psychotropic medications as the first line treatment for depression and other conditions is, quite simply, unsupported by the evidence. The excessive use of medications and other biomedical interventions, based on a reductive neurobiological paradigm causes more harm than good.” I know the book is about depression. But I believe its results are related to stammering. Psychological origins, not physical.
