Expect it to be harder to get disability since you don't have 10 years of paying into social security. My SO is going through this process right now (but for a TBI, not a stutter). She's already been denied and is appealing (even though doctors have deemed her unable to work since 50% of her brain is gone). It's a freaking slog and I wouldn't look to it as an option that will come anytime soon.
