Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's rough when you don't know if this is a common experience or not when parenting a child that stutters. We don't know any other families that have kids who stutter, so I feel kind of at a loss for what I should worry about and what should I let go. I do think it helps to have a supportive family and sibling (we've always been super strict about not teasing for any reason, but definitely not teasing my son's stutter), so at least there's that. Sounds like your son feels secure in that too! I feel like this year, my son has become a bit more self-conscious when it comes to the stutter, whereas before he just kind of powered through it. I suppose at 13, everything makes you self-conscious too, though. Thank you again for sharing your experience! It means a lot to read what other families are experiencing as well.
