Is the entire field of curing stutterering a huge sham? Has anyone EVER been helped by any of the cures? Man I am on the edge right now with my depression. I am beginning to think the entire field of curing my stutter is a big fat lie. All of it. I'll have to live like a blabbering fool for the rest of my life. From SLP, Coastal breathing, meditation, McGuire program to everything else. It could be my negativity talking but I don't think for me personally any of that will work. I feel they're all in it for the money. If any of them actually had a cure and they cared, this problem wouldn't persist. Itd be out there and we'd all be cured. In fact the best fluency I've achieved has been through practice by myself. I say we ban all of these snake oil salesmen and donate all the money saved into research. Then possibly 10-15 years from now we'll have a cure......... Hopefully So my question is, are any of these programs worth it? Has anyone EVER been helped by these speech programs?
