I was really impressed with how they handled someone with a stutter. And the scene where Penguin stood up for Vik in the restaurant, wow! That really hit me. Vik was never used as a joke or a punchline, except at the beginning when Penguin was just getting to know him and told him to “get on with it”. But other characters either just remarked or didn’t mind it at all. Vik’s stuttering is handled in the most realistic way possible. There are times where he is fluent, but when he is nervous, he stutters more. There’s even a scene where he goes from fluency to a stuttering mess when he’s made to talk to a hot chick all of a sudden. That was some seriously brilliant writing and direction. I’m sure someone with a stutter was consulted for his role, it has to be! Vik is easily one of my favorite characters for these reasons. He’s so well-written.
