I really dislike the wait and see approach. I am also not a fan of public school based speech services. I always advocate for professional speech therapy. And I always advocate for sooner rather than later. When a professional speech therapist tells you that your child will grow out of it, then you do the wait and see. IMHO, pediatricians, teachers, and other generalists are not qualified to make that suggestion.
