those studies are older than me. They're not worth my time to read. There are so many other factors at play here. Even if there is a relationship between ovulation and stuttering severity it's of negligible importance because this is only relevant to 25% of adult stutterers (e.g., 75% of stutterers have never ovulated because they have no ovaries). Any medication that alters brain physiology (antidepressants are among these) could *potentially* impact stuttering severity. You're essentially changing the way your brain functions. There is a whole list of pharmaceuticals that have an impact on stuttering severity (some decrease, some increase). There are some antidepressants on that list. (that being said, physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists are woefully under informed regarding stuttering ... so talk to your psychiatrist, but don't expect him / her to know very much).
