as i just mentioned, i never saw that link about their stuttering event. that was a new thing brought to the table. what nagged me was someone seemingly suggesting getting better at stuttering by practicing speaking, as if the stuttering would simply go away with enough speech rehearsal. but we know it doesn't. so it seemed like a silly thing to suggest. i only had the one link to go on, and looking around, i saw nothing to indicate there was a particular effort towards stuttering. the extent to which i was confrontational should be seen in that light: as a stutterer, i'd be dissatisfied with simply being told to go practice speaking in public. that's like saying a broken leg should be walked off, or something like that. in so far as there _are_ actually stuttering specific efforts going on in toastmasters, well... good! if OP can use it, even better. also, >I'm even more confused with your indication that you weren't sure OP stuttered simple: 1. OP might not have been aware of what "stuttering" actually is (all the post mentions is "worried" and "presentations"). 2. OP (_qua stutterer_) wouldn't come to a stuttering sub to ask about something that wasn't stuttering. between 1 and 2, there's a simple question and answer (do you stutter?/yes) end note: do you _still_ find me "angry"? i think i'm writing in the same way as i do in other comments in here, albeit with no smileys.
