Thanks for your input. I agree that establishing a high degree of self-assurance (my word for your "DGAF") is going to be beneficial. It's interesting to me that you separate self-assurance from confidence. In my mind I had confidence being a construct of three distinct features: self assurance, bravery and authority. I absolutely agree with you that people do not stutter because they are unconfident. I do think that "confidence" is viewed as a magic pill that will cure stuttering. This fact is what partially motivated this post.
