Conversation/social skills can be learned. They're not talents. One good way to start is if you want to be interesting to someone, be genuinely interested in them. If you're having trouble with this, just ask yourself, "what do I find interest about this person." And if you're so closed that the answer is nothing, What could you find interesting about them if you wanted to?
