Oh no, I explained it right off the bat. She's at that age where she is bound to encounter disfluent children in her classes, and I wanted her to understand it and not be insensitive, however inadvertently, to her peers about it. Her dad (my brother) is a stutterer too, he's just way more covert than I am, so it must not come up a lot between them.
