She doesn’t sound entirely supportive. I think the best approach is to communicate to her, in whichever way is most comfortable *to you*, how unhelpful what she decided to do can be. No offence but she’s your mother and should know better, but I get it because I have family members who have done the same. With peace and love they’re just ignorant and they need educating - it’s the only way!
