The best thing to do is to tell the teachers beforehand. By doing so, I was able to do group presentations and solo presentations with their help. I would do the writing in my group and let the others present. Solo presentations would just be in a room with only the teacher. Yes making and retaining friends is hard. I solved this by approaching the more quiet people. I used to lunch with a guy in complete silence for half an hour, for a couple of weeks. Five years later, he is still one of my best friends and we have lots of good memories. Love is gonna be hard, but remember there are other people with problems. Someone can look very pretty, but when they suffer from something like social anxiety, they will be in the similair social situation. It can be nice to have someone to talk to.
