Yes a new job brings out the worst of my stutter that's for sure. How to deal with it? That's a tough one and I'm still trying to work this out myself. The phone is an absolute killer for me. You should see the sweat pouring down my face when I need to make a phone call in a whisper quite office... I do find that it gets slightly better once you get a feel for everyone's personalities and get used to the new environment. Generally speaking people with strong ego's and who talk fast I have the most difficulty with as they seem to unknowingly pile on additional pressure for a quick response. Sorry I was unable to provide any real help - it's tough. Very specific events like presentations or meetings some Valium (or other benzo) definitely is useful.
