This might explain for a child, though I highly doubt that as when I was a child, I never forced or anybody else forced me to speak, yeah I was made to laugh at, because I had an unique name which I could never speak. Maybe I had anxiety, I don't know, but I never did, nor do associate negative feelings with stuttering. It just comes and goes like an uninvited guest whom you can't stop from barging into your house
