I understand. I'm not really convinced the posters here want "advice" per se. I think it's more of a place to rant. Which, that is healthy in a way, but it's rather frustrating to see a post you care about get little traction. Overall I don't think they're ready to make changes. It's easy to come to reddit and post about stuttering. It's hard to make the choice to change. And even after making the choice it takes even more work to continue the change. It's hard work. And many people here just aren't ready, imo. The post that got me the most upvotes was that stupid buzzfeed thing 'what not to do when talking to a stutterer' or something like that. So, that suggests to me that we shouldn't take upvotes as an indication of success or validity. The number of times that stupid Valsalva Hypothesis has shown up here. It's junk. It's not valid science (hell, it's not even science, it's just opinion), the therapy is no different than other forms of fluency shaping, yet, it gets a lot of traction on this sub. So, take heart! You have at least one commiserating spirit!!
