I'm in med school where you have to narrate histories every single day. Do some people get annoyed and impatient? Yes. Do I get made fun of? Yes. Are some people complete assholes? Yes again. But people are assholes regardless of whether you stutter or not. They will pick **anything**, and try to put you down. And there are some good people in every field who will be patient and respectful. **_You_ have to have a thicker skin.** Remember: "you deserve to be where you are and you deserve to have what you want for yourself." Entitlement. That is important as a stutterer. You are entitled to people's attention and their patience. You are entitled to humanity and respect. I frequently forget this too. I feel like I'm inconveniencing people with my stutter, but that's not right. I am not a lesser human because of my stutter and I'll stand tall **with** it. So choose the job you want. Plan your career, put careful thought into it, but do not let your stutter limit you.
