Point #1 - I agree. I wouldn't overstate the case, but I agree. Point #2 - You're not necessarily wrong, but you're a long way from right. For example, I have a moderate-to-severe stutter, and I'm entering my 20th year of teaching high school. It wasn't easy, and there are good and bad days, but I've been at it for a while and have no intention on stopping soon. Yes, there are limitations to a stutter: 911 dispatch, for example. But, the options are much much broader than you're implying.
