I stutter in my dreams all the time. I stutter in my thoughts. I stutter when I'm alone. And sometimes, I even stutter while singing! >I suppose this shows that I’m messed up deep down psychologically No, it doesn't, and I kind of resent that interpretation. It's really not uncommon for stutterers to 'feel' their stutter in their thoughts. In fact, on the [stutter sub survey](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeLtlDfc1LVD_5O8siNgeyWq86AItEKaHdtuIgZh0wKiYGVbA/viewanalytics), only 55% of us said we definitely *don't* stutter in our thoughts. While stuttering in dreams was less common, I don't feel that makes my stutter abnormal or evidence of a deeper psychological issue. I just figure it's the most familiar kind of speech my brain knows, so that's what manifests. I don't know what it's like to be fluent. In fact, it'd seem weirder for me to be totally fluent in my dreams.
